Each year, new versions of existing technology come to market, leading companies, especially those in San Francisco, to upgrade their hardware. Thus, a surplus of older, perfectly functional devices is created. However, much of this technology disappears into storage units. Novis Tech hopes to collect, redistribute, and repurpose these older devices to San Francisco's homeless and the developmentally disabled. Additionally, by working with The Community Technology Network, based in San Francisco, NovisTech hopes to launch a 1:1 device program for homebound seniors. NovisTech has paired devices collectively worth over $15,000 with underserved schools and seniors.
Eco Wash Network
A California native and upset by the state's drought, Tyler Cullen sought to combat excessive water use by founding a water-free car wash service. Through using a plant derived, chemical-free product that removes dirt with just a spray-on and wipe-off application, Tyler Cullen has revolutionized how Marin car owners wash their cars. Originally named Marin Eco Wash, the company has now rebranded and is working on expanding nationwide for other teens to start their own Eco Washes through the Eco Wash Network.
